Youth Development and Behavior Prevention

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Malkia's Pride-n-Prose has over a decade of experience working to improve
the quality of life for at-risk youth. We are dedicated to promoting youth development and youth risk behavior prevention, while highlighting those who inspire change. In addition, we educate and promote more active and health lifestyles for youth; and encourage healthy eating habits.

However, research shows that Generation Y, 8- to 23-year-olds, are much less accepting of traditional marketing methods-- proving to be more skeptical and harder to reach than previous generations.

Malkia's Pride-n-Prose takes an integrated approach to reaching Gen Y kids by blending compelling content and creative storytelling with traditional, new and social media across all channels in order to attract loyal youth brand ambassadors.

The Smart Snacks "Bag the Junk Campaign"

#BagtheJunk

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 allowed the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to update the national nutrition standards; and the new “Smart Snacks” regulations went into effect July 1, 2014.

The National Recreation and Parks Month Celebration

#Superjuly

Each July since 1985, America has celebrated Park and Recreation Month, a program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks, recreation and conservation has on communities across the U.S.

The National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month Campaign

More than 23 million children and teenagers in the United States ages 2 to 19 are obese or overweight, a statistic that health and medical experts consider an epidemic.  And this epidemic puts nearly one third of America’s children at early risk for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even stroke – conditions usually associated with adulthood.  But there are opportunities every day to change these trends.  And this September, there is an extraordinary opportunity to build awareness and take action – nationally, as well as in your state, city, workplace and home.
